Born in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Ramoni grew up on the sands of Campeche beach. Ceramics entered her life as a language, not a career. Kūkei is the spiritual name she received upon taking vows in Zen Buddhism. Under it she signs her authorial work, pieces that carry the memory of the island, the philosophy of impermanence, and the mark of the unrepeatable gesture. Each piece is one of a kind and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Life made me a ceramicist. The sea gave me form. Zen gave me a name.
